New waterborne fluoropolymer resins for ultra- weatherable coatings

Among traditional fluoropolymers, only polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has been widely used in coatings. Now, otlier fluoropolymers are finding applications, namely fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) resins, which can be made to be compatible with waterborne systems. This article discusses the application of FEVE emulsions and their potential for use in high weathering environments.
