A novel methodology for the evaluation of distinctness of image of glossy surfaces

Distinctness of image (DOI) quantifies the spread of light reflected at the specular angle and is therefore an expression of how sharp a surface reflection is. Very glossy surfaces are often judged exclusively on the basis of their DOI.
