摘要

Clearcoats used in a variety of applications tend to suffer from inadequate mar,scratch and abrasion resistance.One of the approaches to overcome this problem is to incorporate inorganic fillers and,in order to reduce deleterious effects on transparency,nano-fillers,for example nano-silica particles.The surface of nano-silica possesses hydroxyl groups,which infer hydrophilicity,and therefore to aid compatibility with non-polar or semi-polar resins,the nano-silica may be surface treated with an organosilane.
