Air Products sells its interest in VAE polymer joint venture to Wacker

As part of its signalled move towards a more focused, less cyclical and higher growth company, Air Products has agreed to sell its interest in its vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) polymer joint ventures to Wacker Chemie AG, its long-time joint venture partner. VAE is used in adhesives, paints and coatings, paper and carpet applications. The sale comprises the global VAE polymers operations including production facilities in Calvert City (Kansas); South Brunswick (New Jersey); Cologne (Germany); and Ulsan (Korea); and the commercial and research centres in Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) and Burghausen (Germany).
