Effective January 1, 1997, Electrolux AB combined three of its companies (American Yard Products, Frigidaire Company and Poulan/Weedeater) into a single business unit called Frigidaire Home Products. Electrolux made the move in an effort to become more globally minded and to more efficiently serve its customers. The merger allows certain efficiencies, including the integration of many basic internal functions such as information technology, purchasing, product development, warehousing, transportation and administration.
