It feels like one of those oh-oh moments: a researcher at the United State's Humbolt State University (HSU) has documented that steelhead released from the Trinity River Hatchery in California have been munching on wild salmonids in the river, apparently in large numbers. According to a regional newspaper report, the findings have raised more than a few eyebrows, and prompted people involved with the restoration of the river's fish stocks and its fishery to question how the hatchery is being operated.
