FRANCE: A THRIVING TUNNELLING MARKET

High profile projects like Metro Line B in Toulouse (this issue p.384), the A86 motorway tunnel west of Paris or the Lyon-Turin high-speed line may be the trees that hide the forest. Many other less known, and sometimes small-scale, tunnelling projects are under way, or in prospect in France. Here we look at some of these giving an indication of the current strength of the country's tunnelling sector.
