Petrobras seeks better deal on fuel imports as refining losses deepen.

The Brazilian state oil company has reported an overall 3Q profit of 3.395B BRL ($1.6B), down 39% on the year from 5.567B BRL. Profits for the first nine months of 2013, in contrast, came in at 17.289B BRL, up 29% from the 2012 figure of 13.435B BRL. Less positive, however, was the news from downstream operations, which suffered a 3Q loss of 5.5B BRL, ($2.52B), on top of a 2.5B BRL loss in quarter before.
