After an official corruption probe was launched against its former chairman Jiang jiemin for what was termed "serious discipline violations," the Chinese government has said it may cut funding to the Chinese energy major as it looks to introduce a new management team. The probe launched against Jiang comes a week after three other PetroChina executives were accused of the same violations and subsequendy fired as the Chinese government looks to toughen its stance against corruption committed by top government officials.
