UK LNG Imports Halve In First Quarter of 2012

UK LNG imports are estimated to have tumbled 49% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2012 as mild winter weather cut demand and pipeline imports increased. Qatar was the sole LNG supplier in the three months, delivering 3.86 billion cubic meters (2.8 million tons), versus 5.43 Bcm a year earlier, when total UK LNG imports were 7.53 Bern, according to WGI data based on port, ship tracking and other sources.
