A long road lies ahead, but natural gas vehicles (NGVs) may finally be coming into their own. In the US, technological breakthroughs in vehicle manufacture, as well as in crucial areas like engines and fuel tanks, are combining with historically low natural gas prices relative to oil to galvanize fresh efforts to push compressed natural gas (CNG) and LNG as alternative transport fuels.
