European Utilities Top Rankings of 'Green' Power Generators

Europe is leading the way in the transition of power generators to clean energy, boasting the two top performers and seven of the leading 10 companies in WGI sister publication EI New Energy's first annual ranking of 100 of the world's top "green" utilities. By contrast, most of the laggards, toward the bottom of the ranking, are from major coal, oil and gas producing countries, corifirming that cheap fossil fuel energy acts as an obstacle to low-carbon investment.
