Mild spring weather across much of Western Europe has seen a net build in the region's gas inventories since mid-March and over the past week, while the US remained in wintry withdrawal mode. Reinforcing previous trends, these moves left combined inventories in the major European markets up nearly 35% on the three-year average for this time of year, North American stores virtually flat with historic norms and the Atlantic Basin as a whole up 7.7% (see table below).
