The presence in gas flows of condensate that can be readily sold as a segregated stream like crude oil, spiked into crude streams, or converted into even higher-value liquid hydrocarbons has long been an important issue in determining the economic viability of LNG and other gas projects. With those liquids now selling at a possibly long-term premium to gas in several key markets and the gas-to-liquids price gap potentially spreading around the globe, condensate is quickly becoming an even more critical consideration for gas projects.
