Egypt-Israel Gas Case

The Egyptian government is appealing a Nov. 18 administrative court decision that called for a halt to gas exports to Israel. The case was brought by lawyer Ibrahim Yousri, who argued that parliamentary approval was required for the 2005 deal. For now, gas is still flowing at a rate of around 1.7 billion cubic meters per year (164 million cubic feet per day), an Israeli energy source confirms.
