This should have been a celebratory spring for Cheniere Energy.Two of the four or more giant merchant LNG receiving terminals it conceived of building along the US Gulf Coast in 2001 are set for commissioning by midyear:Freeport LNG,now only 30% owned by the inventive terminal promoter,and Sabine Pass,still wholly Cheniere owned.Cheniere has announced an Apr.21 dedication event for Sabine Pass,at which 2 billion cubic feet per day of the initial 2.6 Bcf/d(20 million tons per year)of capacity is booked,1 Bcf/d each to Chevron and Total.
