Might BP Let Gazprom Into Trinidad?

Last week,Russian newspaper Vedomosti printed an eyebrow-raising report that BP is in negotiations involving contribution of a stake in its profitable Trinidad LNG business to a joint venture with Russian state-controlled Gazprom.Although neither company will publicly confirm the report,it suggests that relations between BP and Gazprom are already on the mend,after Gazprom edged BP affiliate TNK-BP out of its 62.89% stake in the giant Kovykta gas field in East Siberia earlier this year(WGI Jun.27,p3).
