Kuwait Wants Gas From Both Iran, Qatar

To meet growing electricity demand, Kuwait is looking to both Iran and Qatar to supply it with gas under separate long-term agreements, both currently under negotiation (WGI Jan. 15, p4). And with the prospect of Iraq soon being under new leadership, Kuwait does not rule out the possibility of importing gas from its war-ravaged neighbor, which used to be a significant gas supplier to Kuwait before the invasion of 1990 (WGI Feb. 26, p1).
