Australian Oil Search has had a topsy-turvy few weeks in its attempts to develop and monetize what it reckons are at least 25 trillion cubic feet (708 billion cubic meters) of gas in Papua New Guinea's highlands.Within weeks of finding out its gas pipeline project to Australia was foundering on rising costs and customer hesitancy,it has whipped out of the bag a deal with the UK's BG Group to investigate the possibility of an LNG project.
