With Asian LNG imports continuing to expand at a brisk pace, Atlantic Basin suppliers have started making inroads again this winter, particularly in South Korea and Japan, after largely retreating to markets closer to home earlier in 2010 (WGI Jan.5,p2). Nigeria has been one of the big gainers in this process, as its overall production bounces back (WGI Nov.3,p3). It exported at least 349,000 tons to Asia in November — Taiwan data for that month aren't yet available — and 172,000 in October, pushing its year-to-date total up 48% to 1.77 million tons.
