Pakistan's LNG import woes continue, with all but one of the bids in its first spot LNG buy tender disqualified on technical grounds, sources tell WGI. There was a strong turnout, with as many as eight proposals reportedly submitted. But trading firm Gunvor was the only one that made it through to the final evaluation round, the sources said, with the likes of Trafigura, Vitol and Glencore failing to do so — possibly due to errors in the proposals, or the inclusion of terms and conditions that did not meet tender requirements. It is unclear how Pakistan State Oil (PSO) will now proceed, since government approval for tenders normally requires at least two qualified bids to be submitted.
