Spot prices in Northeast Asia have dipped into single-digit territory for the first time since Japan's Fukushima disaster in March 2011, dropping 550 to $9.95 per million Btu amid contin-ued oversupply, according to WGI assessments for LNG cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead, while prices in Southwest Europe came off a further 100. to $9.30/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point (NBP) day-ahead price assessed by WGI shot up 49¢ to $9/MMBtu, while December NBP futures rose 39¢ to $8.97. Netbacks for Mideast sellers were just over $1 higher on Asian than Southwest Europe deliveries, while UK and Belgian netbacks for Mideast sellers lagged Asia by $1.60-$1.90.
