LNG Crash Fears

One of the world's biggest LNG carriers remains anchored off Singapore after colliding with a giant South Korean container ship in the Malacca Strait over a week ago. The Q-Flex, Al Gharrafa, was headed to Japan from the Qatari port of Ras Lagan carrying around 90,000 tons for Tokyo Electric Power Co. Sources say its LNG holds remain intact — although its bow was damaged — and charterer Qatargas and shipowner OSG are now deciding their best course of action.
