Sabine Pass on Track

Cheniere Energy insists it is on track to ship the maiden cargo from the first train at Sabine Pass — the first LNG export plant in the US lower 48 — in the fourth quarter of 2015 (WGI Dec.3'14). The second train will follow in 2016, with one more each in 2017 and 2018. Two more trains are planned, pending regulatory approval. Each train will have a capacity of almost 600 MMcf/d gas, for a combined 18 million tons/yr of LNG. Cheniere is arranging for supply from sources throughout the US, with the gas to be delivered via one of two pipelines that each can ship more than 2 Bcf/d.
