Shah Deniz Signs up Hub Price Advocates

The S40 billion-plus Shah Deniz Stage 2 upstream and pipeline scheme moved a step closer to a final investment decision last week, when nine gas supply contracts were signed with European buyers in the Azeri capital Baku. Up to 16 billion cubic meters per year (1.55 billion cubic feet per day) of Azeri gas will start flowing in 2018, of which 10 Bcm/yr will go to EU markets and 6 Bcm/yr to Turkish state Botas under a deal agreed last year.
