Major North American players Marathon and Talisman last week announced they were quitting shale gas exploration in Poland because of poor results, as did Exxon Mobil last year (TOD May9'13). But that doesn't signal the end of shale investment in either Poland or Europe, even if a big breakthrough of the type that has transformed the North American gas scene appears some way off.
