THERE is one big advantage that almond growers have over most other producers: limited supply and limited potential supply. There are few places on the planet that have the necessary conditions to grow a good crop of almonds and deliver them to the market. That's why 80% of the world's almonds are produced in the Central Valley of California. This limited supply, coupled with high demand, has resulted in predictably high prices for almonds.
