While accepting the Donnellan Memorial Award for service to the WAI, past WAI president Jack Salt quoted U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, saying, "Every man owes some of his time to the upbuilding of the profession to which he belongs." It is easy to look at the time and dedication that WAI board and committee members invest in the association and shy away from getting involved; however, you might be surprised at the benefit a seemingly small volunteer act can have, both for the WAI and for you.
