Activity of the Central Mining Institute with regard to investigations and certification in the light of European Union requirements

A free transfer of goods, one of the basis of a single market functioning in the European Union is secured by legislation of technical harmonisation and the principle of a common acknowledgement of standards and certificates in the area not covered by these regulations. Exceptionally important are technical harmonisation directives in this system, the so-called new approach directives setting general safety regulations for a broad group of commodities and hazards resulting from their usage. The article presents general characteristics of the assessment of conformity of the goods from the European Union with the requirements; the current status of implementation in Poland of the European system of the assessment of conformity of goods meant for mining industry, implementation of the European system of investigations and certification in the Central Mining Institute.
