Work safety management at mines -- part 4. Analysis of coal dust explosion hazard in the zones of longwalls with high production concentration

Special place in the statuary scientific- technical works of the Central Mining Institute (CMI) is taken by the area of work safety in hard coal mining, especially protection against natural hazards. In 2002, at Experimental Mine "Barbara" - CMI, in Department of Coal Dust and Explosion Hazard Combating "Analysis of coal dust explosion hazard in the zones of roadways being driven in coal and in the zones of longwalls with high production concentration was prepared". In this article the author brought closer to the reader the results of investigations carried out by the aforementioned Department, showing a real status of coal dust explosion hazard and efficiency of preventive measures applied in the form of dust formation prevention in those areas.
