WATER & ENERGY INTERNATIONAL: Energy Section - Requirement of Equipments at Generating Stations during 12th Plan and Beyond

Electricity is a vital input for economic and social development of our society. Our economy is growing at a rapid rate and adequate and quality power is essential to fuel this growth. To meet the growing demand of the country and the Government's Endeavour to improve the living standard of our people.CEA has carried out planning studies to estimate the capacity addition required during the 12th and 13th Plans. For the purpose of assessing the requirement of equipment, coal/lignite based Thermal Plants have been categorized based on their Unit sizes. Requirement of equipment for Gas/ LNG based plants have been assessed based on the typical requirement of a module. Requirement of Hydro Plants has been assessed for each project, as equipment required,are site specific. Requirement of equipment for Nuclear Plants has not been included as it is expected that Nuclear Power Corporation of India would separately ensure development of production capability for material and equipment commensurate with their requirement during prospective plans.
