This paper provides an overview of the use Silica fume in the anti-abrasive concrete in dam and other auxilliary structures along with the fibre reinforced shotcrete in the tunnels and various underground works in Chamera Hydroelectric Project Stage-II. Chamera Hydroelectric project is a run-of-the-river scheme. The project is situated in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, upstream of Chamera hydroelectric project stage-I. It is about 120 km from the nearest Rail head, i.e., Pathankot and 220 km from the nearest Airport, Jammu. The proposed Dam and power house are accessible through Chamba - Kharamukh Road. Chamera project stage-II envisages construction of a 43m high concrete gravity Dam across river Ravi, with installed capacity of 300 MW and is about 20 km upstream of Chamba town.
