摘要

The addition of oxides of rare earth metals (REM) to the charge for flux-cored wires or electrode coatings greatly improve the quality metal of welded joints.' This is determined by the processes of reduction of the oxides of the REM byte aluminium, present in the charge, and by the subsequent transition of the REM into the welded metal. This process Is confirmed by the results of the chemical analysis of the weld metal for the presence of the REM. At a low concentration of the REM, tests were carried out with the photometric method~2 for the determination of cerium in specimens of welded joints in low-alloy steels. Investigations were carried out on welded joints produced in welding with electrodes whose coating contained different amounts of the cerium oxide (IV) (in the preparation of specimen No. 2 the oxide was not introduced).
