ASPIRE putting greater focus on people and planet

ENGINEERS AGAINST POVERTY AND ARUP International Development have developed ASPIRE (A Sustainability, Poverty and Infrastructure Routine for Evaluation), a software-based tool for assessing the sustainability and poverty reduction performance of infrastructure projects in low and middle income countries. It addresses the four key themes of environment, society, economics and institutions. It is designed to be used across a broad range of infrastructure, but has great relevance to water, sanitation and environmental projects due to their multiple stakeholders and complex cross-sectoral impacts.
