Switching processes in power sources for electron beam welding gas with formation of high-voltage breakdown

In this study, the reasons for breakdown in welding electron beam guns are investigated. The main factors influencing the time characteristics of discharge current are analysed. A model is developed for investigating the breakdown conditions in the electron beam gun. The results of investigations of the effect of reactive parameters of the power source on the time characteristics of current and voltage in different parts of the circuit are presented.
