ASTM announces round robins,new standards activities

ASTM International,West Conshohocken,PA,has launched several activities related to the coatings technology industry.Subcommittee E 12.14 on"Multi-Dimensional Characterization of Appearance,"part of Committee E 12 on color and appearance is tackling the problems involved in instrumental measurements of the appearance of high-quality surfaces.Directness of image (Dol) is valued and easily discriminated visually,but hard to achieve and difficult to measure instrumentally.All interested,are invited to join their current efforts in obtaining instrumental and visual data through a series of round-robin experiments.
