摘要

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of different tack welding fabrication procedures on the final deformations of butt-welded plate structures. The number and lengths of the tacks and their position with respect to the final butt weld were altered and the sensitivity of these parameters with respect to out-of-plane deformation was established. Finite element models were applied in a parametric study of these three different procedural variations to identify which fabrication procedures would lead to minimal out-of-plane distortion.
