Cortinovis SpA, Bergamo, Italy has been continuously targeting the need of its customers to have equipment which gives higher efficiency and flexibility and reduced loading times. In this major ongoing process, Cortinovis SpA has recently introduced several new developments: back twist free Tubular Armouring machine; Conotorsion laying-up machine; Linear Bobbin Rigid Strander and Monobitorsion Strander for medium voltage cable. The back twist free Tubular Armouring is designed to give the best results in the application of armouring wires onto delicate cores, such as a fiber optics cable, plastic or rubber tubes, and similar products. The central bobbin, which holds the sensitive product core, can be located internally or externally. The core enters and exits the tubular strander at very shallow angles and is guided by a special anti-torsion device which guarantees that the product will not be twisted as it runs along the full path of the tube. All torsion and de-torsion effects are so avoided on the central core. The wire armouring back-twist process, from bobbins 630mm or 30:, can be made up to 500 RPM with linear speeds of 120m/min. The loading time of the tubular is shorter than planetaries, as it is possible to load simultaneously many bobbins.
