Thirteen gaskets of various configurations (sheet and spiral wound) were leak tested in a pressure vessel with a 24" class 150 raised face weld neck flange. Most tests were repeated at two-five gasket stress levels. Leakage was measured with the pressure decay method. Sensitivity was increased by running the test two-four days as needed and reducing the pressurized volume with filler metal. Some of the experimental results were compared to values predicted by the new PVRC gasket constants.
