While the rate of expansion of the USA poultry industry has slowed, existing processing plants continue to upgrade equipment and facilities to stay competitive. Broiler and turkey plant managers were asked what areas of their plants were scheduled for expansion or improvements in the next two years. Thirty-five of the 41 broiler plants and 14 of the 17 turkey plant managers report that they have some form of expansion or improvements scheduled for their plants in the next two years.
