A Word from the Virginia Tree Farm Committee: Stotlers are 2012 Tree Farmers of the Year

The Virginia Tree Farm Committee congratulates the father and son team of Herbert J. Stotler senior and Herbert J. Stotler, Jr., who were named Virginia's 2012 Tree Farmers of the Year. The Stotlers have owned their 102 acre Tree Farm in the hills near Winchester for more than forty years. The property is nearly completely forested. Herbert senior grew up in the Winchester area, as did his wife, Mary. While he spent most of his life away from the green hills of western Virginia working as an engineer at NASA, Herbert senior wanted to keep a connection to the place where he grew up.
