The pick-up rate of 2149 e-prescriptions and 414 paper prescriptions for short-term treatments was determined at a middle-sized Swedish pharmacy. We found a high pick-up rate of 90% within 5 days from the date of issue. The number of patients with a pick-up delay of more than 5 days was significantly higher among those with paper prescriptions (15%) compared to those with e-prescriptions (10%).
