MK 3 GTI 8V ANNIVERSARY

MY MK3 GTI is a 1996 5-door Anniversary model in Mystic blue. I bought it to replace a B5 Passat 1.8T, due to insurance costs, as my wife has started to drive and the Golf was half the price for both of us. I am only paying ￡275 a year fully comprehensive for us both, which is less than a third of what the Passat was going to cost. The GTI has had more issues than I expected, though, and I have had to replace many suspension bushes including the more difficult to fit rear axle bushes. It has also needed new shocks and springs at the original ride height, two wheel bearings, a new clutch cable which has really improved the biting point/clutch feel, and a full proper cambelt service.
