THE SPORTIEST and most driver-focused machine in Volkswagen's current lineup, the Scirocco R needs no introduction. But, outside of Germany, the Cup version doesn't get quite as much attention. Which is a shame, as Volkswagen Motorsport's take on the shapely coupe has plenty of unique and interesting features. Introduced last year as the new machine for Volkswagen Germany's super successful one-make racing cup which has been entertaining crowds since 1998, with first the Lupo, then Polo GTI, the Scirocco R-Cup took the championship to a whole new level, with a host of technical and sporting innovations.
