UK Should Learn from Overseas on Bioindustries

According to a study carried out by the Centre for Economics and Business Research on behalf of the BBIA, a UK trade body representing the bio-based industries, the UK has the opportunity to develop a domestic bio-plastics industry able to support 35,000 jobs, produce ￡1 billion in gross employment compensation and generate ￡2 billion of gross value added to the economy, with a local production of 120,000 tonnes considering just relevant flexible and food packaging.
