Sir,T-cell lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I), the first human retrovirus, is the causative agent for adult T-cell lymphoma/ leukemia (ATL). It has also been reported that the same virus was implicated in the pathogenesis of HTLV-I associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/ TSP), HTLV-1 associated bronchopnumopathy (HAB), HTLV-I associated arthropathy, HTLV-I uveitis, and autoimmune diseases such as Sjogren's syndrome (SS) [2, 3].
