Owing to the liberalization of the electricity market in April 1998 together with the agreement between the Federal Government and the Nuclear Power Utilities of June 14, 2000, the working conditions for the staff of nuclear power plants have changed remarkably. Economic efficiency of plant management is coming to the fore more than ever because other power producers are pushing into the hate load with competitive offers. Together with measures for the conservation of know-how, this will necessarily lead to more efficient process steps in the plants. A qualitatively high staff education ensures also in future reliable operation on a high safety level.
