The integration of new types of facility into the VGB feedwater guideline (VGB-R 450 L)

The VGB Guideline for boiler feed water, boiler water and steam from steam generators above 68 bar permissible operating pressure (VGBN-R 450 L) basically focuses its range of application in the last revised edition dating from 1988 on power plant facilities with condensing turbines and fossil fuel-fired high-pressure steam generators in base-load operation. During the past ten years, a large number of power plants have been built whose overall concepts and requirement profiles differ significantly from the above-mentioned range of application. The integration of these facilities in a new edition of VGB Guideline -R 450 L necessitates complete rewriting in essential parts. This is explained by examples.
