Use of an open-source Geographic Information System-based method for topographic analysis of nodular cutaneous lesions in dogs

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is a software system that stores, analyses, manages and presents data that are linked to location. Geographic Information Systems are generally used in many disciplines to analyse geographical data. In medicine, GIS is widely used for epidemiological studies and also to create risk maps of infectious and noninfectious diseases. Web GIS applications create interactive mapping on the World Wide Web where users are able to insert, delete or modify data, make queries and visualize real-time custom maps.
