摘要

Carbon-containing rocks from the Ekibastuzskii deposit - the mineral part of which was represented basically by kaolin and quartz and contains 27-38 percent Al_2O_3, 57-67 percent SiO_2, and 0.3-0.6 percent Fe_2O_3 - can be used directly in the production of alloy-deoxidizers; when there is a low iron and master alloy content it can be used to produce Al-Si alloys. In order to explain the differences in behavior of charges, made up of lumps with constant and varying contents of carbon, laboratory research was conducted in a furnace with a carbon heater in n CO atmosphere to examine the process of reducing the carbon-reducing materials of the Ekibastuzskii deposit (see Table).
